THINKING OF MOVING TO MELROSE?
Melrose is a treasure in the heart of Scottish Borders. It has a TD6 postcode as do the villages of Bowden, Darnick, Gattonside, Lilliesleaf, Maxton, Newtown St Boswells, Newstead, St Boswells and the surrounding countryside.
Here’s what we love about the TD6 area.

Almost 2,000 years of History
Trimontium Roman Fort complex at Newstead, near Melrose was built around 80AD. Over a millennium later Melrose Abbey was founded in 1136, and the town of Melrose grew up on its present site around it. A previous, and by then long abandoned, 6th century monastery associated with St Cuthbert had been at nearby “Old Melrose“. The nearby ruins of Dryburgh Abbey can still be seen.
