Trainee Solicitor Role
We are a high street law firm looking to recruit a Trainee Solicitor to be based in our Duns office in the Borders. This vacancy has come about as a result of our firm’s ongoing growth and development. This is an exciting full-time office-based position, with excellent career progression opportunity.
What you’ll be doing
- Assisting Partner, NQ Solicitor and Paralegal level colleagues with Conveyancing and Private Client matters
- Taking instructions from clients
- Drafting and proofing legal documents
- Reviewing title deeds and lease documentation
- Researching legal matters
- Dealing with all aspects of the residential and commercial conveyancing process
- Assisting with Executry Estates, Wills and Powers of Attorney
- Assisting with agricultural and rural legal matters
What you’ll have
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong connection with the Scottish Borders and a desire to build a career here
- A positive and friendly manner in dealing with clients and colleagues
- Client/general public facing work experience
- The ability to manage your own workload and the awareness to know when to request additional support
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
- Business awareness and problem solving with commercial insight
- Ability to identify legal vs business issues
- Relationship building and collaborating with colleagues and clients
- Leadership and management capabilities, for oneself and others
