It has been said that selling houses can be something of an art.
Our latest venture in Coldstream aims to appeal to those looking for the unique lifestyle and creative opportunities that living in The Scottish Borders has to offer.
Coldstream is the first town that you come to as you cross The Tweed to the Scottish side on the Border with England.
A true border town Coldstream lies on the north bank of The Tweed with views over to Northumbria and the Cheviot hills. Artists from both sides of Tweed have drawn inspiration from the surrounding countryside and the town has also attracted many to move to enjoy the best of both worlds with coast and country all close at hand.
51 High Street lies in the conservation area and the building is listed as of historic interest.
Formerly an art gallery it was a sad loss as an excellent and popular exhibition space when it closed in 2020. With the opening of our new office it has been reborn combining property sales letting and legal services with the open plan gallery space retained for displaying works by the finest professional Borders artists. On display are paintings, glassware, furniture and sculptures.
Now open and ready for business, we intend to be a vibrant presence in Coldstream.
Bringing back legal and property services to Coldstream compliments our existing provision in Berwickshire where we have offices in Duns and Eyemouth. We also have local connections with both property and legal staff living in the town and our directors all with strong roots in the area so it made sense to bring back a local solicitors offering excellence in both property and legals to this part of The Borders.
Some may wonder what an art gallery has to do with estate agency.
The fact is whether it is buying a piece of art or falling in love with your new home both are about an emotional connect that is more about the heart to spark that inspiration but not forgetting the head which is where our expert advice and local knowledge is essential to make those dreams come true. Of course you don’t need to move house to buy art but it’s good to find inspiration and if you are excited over your move and looking for a fresh start there is much to be said for going with your heart and finding space for a unique piece of original artwork in your new home.
The gallery will be open during normal office hours Monday to Friday.
We welcome you to call in and view the art or to discuss any property or legal matters.
