Smack bang in the centre of Coldstream, The Hastings First Gallery at Hastings Legal offers something you wouldn’t usually expect to find in a law firm — bold paintings, coastal scenes, 3D work, expressive abstracts, and the vibrant still life work of artists like Bella Green.
We believe that what we offer needn’t feel cold or clinical — and that’s true in our approach to both our environment and our advice. Just as we bring a more personal, flexible touch to legal and property services, our in-office gallery brings colour, character, and creativity to the everyday.
What started as a means to brighten the office space has grown into a real celebration of local talent — and a space where clients, artists and visitors can connect. It’s also become a part of our wider community, having hosted an exhibition in partnership with Coldstream Primary School to showcase local young artists.
All artwork is for sale, with new pieces rotated regularly. Whether you’re here for legal advice, buying or selling a home, or just passing through Coldstream — we’d love you to step in, take a moment, and enjoy the collection.
This summer’s highlights include:
- Seaside scenes playing with movement and colour
- Abstracts bursting with movement and colour
- Bold, contemporary still life work, full of rich tones, confident brushwork and unmistakable style
